So I'm looking at getting a new guitar.
Could anyone give me the RRP for these guitars?
Has anyone played or owned any of these guitars?

My choices are:

Cort Source

Cort Garage 2

Cort KX-OTIC

My opinions in then are Yes, Yes and Yes.... But then again I may be biased ?
Firstly, what are your musical tastes? Because each of those would seem geared to a different style. Especially the source and the KX.
I played a source and it's pretty much on par with an Epi dot/335 I enjoyed it. The one I did play is a cort source BV with the P-90's but I have experience with the humbuckers as they're in my yorktown. They can be a but muddy in the neck but I think in a semi hollow they'll be less so.

The garage is based on the G series which are comfortable strat like instruments.

The KX is similar to my X-1 comfortable super strat
Probably has the thin super fast neck profile as well. Hot pickups do well under gain so metal and hard rock at its forte but they do clean up nicely.

      ...Really? ???

Hehe, I'm a recent convert me'self. Started with a CEC5 nylon because it was cheap and had a radius'ed fretboard, then a G series and finally a Z series. I found the necks very much to my taste - as you say quite comfy. Saw a G290 today and had to stop myself. If I should ever see a GV-T in this finish, I'll probably hurt myself trying to get hold of it : http://www.ratcliffe.co.za/reviews/gvt.shtml.

Opeth : If you've kept one of your super strat-y Cort's I saw recent @ the GJ, then maybe the Source for that hollow body vibe?
Good guitars at a fair price. I've tried the NZS-2 Neil Zaza and the M600 and though both were really good value, and nice playing instruments.

Cort Source - Pretty good 335 style guitar.

Cort Garage 2 - Don't know them, but it's basically a G-series with humbuckers, so what's not to like?

Cort KX-OTIC - The zebrawood veneer looks pretty cool, but every one I've played has been uninspiring.

The Zaza is one of the best instruments Cort have made IMO. A bit high gain for me, but damn good. The M600 is also a good'un.

I think the zaza one not only feels great, but looks very very nice too...if only you could somehow remove the fretboard inlay.
I haven't tried any of those, but I see the KX has EMG HZ pickups: the passive EMGs... I've had those in another guitar and they were horrible. Never changed p/ups so quickly.
So it looks like I'm going with the Cort Matthias Jabs Signature Guitar.
Receiving it tomorrow. I read that it has an asymmetrical neck...
I have never played a guitar with one. Has anyone on the forum played an asymmetrical neck??

If I don't like it, I will just resell it.

Yeah, Chocklit's got all of his birthday money and he's a real sucker for a Cort! ?

A few. I prefer a symmetrical soft V profile above all others, but get used to an asymmetrical quickly. Thickness is more of an issue for me than symmetry.

Hahaha ? I need to stop buying gear!
Look at this sig vvv and I think I'm still missing some stuff!
So I tried the Cort Source and the Cort Garage 2 today.
As much as I wanted a hollow-body, the neck on the Cort Source was too chunky or thick for me.
The guitar sounded quite rad, a bit muddy on the neck pickup and it wasn't setup nicely but that was about it.
The body was also a bit too big for me as I'm quite a small guy.

                        So onto the Garage 2...
As soon as I picked it up, it just felt right.
I have never played a guitar with an asymmetrical neck and wow, I don't know why it isn't featured on more guitars.
                        What a feeling....
So I plugged it in and the sound that came out of my amplifier was huge!
                        It ROARS!!

So in the end I had to go with the Garage 2 plus I got it for an absolute bargain.
When I saw that the RRP was R5995 I had to take it.

The guitar has so many tonal options.
It has a Full-Force Switch that bypasses all the controls and provides a direct out option.
It can also be used as a kill-switch
Then there is the Easy Grip Tone Pot which allows you to split the humbuckers and man does this thing sound like a Strat.

This is pretty much all you could ever want in a guitar.
So I am very happy with my purchase, and I will continue to support Cort as I have never been disappointed with any of their instruments.
