I am assisting a friend long distance to buy a Beginner Guitar for his son.
Someone is offering him a Starfire Classical for R500. Looks alright in the picture but it could be tomato box wood.
I need help with some names of Guitar Shops in Durban so I can do some research.
He doesn't want to spend too much as he doesn't know if his son will take it seriously.
I advised him on possibly playing a little more for a better quality.
I recently acquired a real bottom of the range Ibanez that is surprisingly good stuff and I would recommend it to anyone who was starting out. So something in the line of the Ibanez.
Also have suggested guitar lessons, so any help with that would be good stuff

There's a newish Marshall Music in Umhlanga that's pretty good. It's got some nice Gibson's but I'm sure those are a bit too pricey ?

If possible, get him to check out places like cash converters and stuff. They sometimes have better stuff for cheap. We managed to get a cort classical for 500 a while back

ICM - It's an Internet friend so I don't know him that well. But I am also heading down the coast tomorrow, but a bit far from Durban to browse the shops.
