Can anybody tell me the real story behind the "Tulips For Toinette" song by Johnny Kongos? I've heard many and would like to get the real one. Thank you.

Sylvia Kongos read in an SA paper about a young girl who had recently passed away due to an incurable disease.
Sylvia wrote the lyrics, John wrote the melody. Part of the song royalties went to the family of the girl.
(I was John's co-writer for many years in the 60s and 70s.)

Listened to the Youtube video, great song and very fitting in memory of the young girl.
Thanks for sharing Sneaky Pete
