Guitar forum gig, who would be interested?

I would like to see how it goes first before making a commitment. I've been disappointed in responses from forum members regarding gigs here in Jozi and in Durban, so will wait and see what happens.

well i would be keen to perform ...and have organised many a gig so don't mind getting my hands dirty doing some organising or being on the organising team.....

it's all about networking and in the past we have had a few pretty successful GFSA get togethers and i know Bob organised one acoustic event and i did organise one for acoustic too and norio and i organised one in pta about a year or two back

so the problem is not organising the logistics like venue/date etc. ...it's having a core group of performers that need to be scheduled to perform in such a way that genres are taken into account...no good having a ripping band playing swedish death metal before a classical duo or solo folk artist .... BUT a mix of genres can be done easily enough it just needs to be planned to escalate through the event ....do this correctly and we can have jazz/classical/bluegrass/flamenco/grindcore/metal/classic rock all on the same bill ...

and maybe one of the music stores could get on board too ... but even not it's more than possible....if enough people wanna get involved to perform

I only went to one forum get-together jam, but met some really nice people,
and ended up joining a band with some of them. :woohoo:

I'd be interested if there was another get together in Cape Town...
(I missed to last one in a new shop in Woodstock ☹ )

We (Ragamuffin) would love to perform, maybe someone should take the peoples details who are willing when the time comes to organising it.

I got a few PMs from some interested parties too. Will give it a while so everyone has a opportunity to pull in. I know some members who aren't very active on the forum but have great bands. I"ll ask them too.
