Memes? Stickies?

Does anybody know what the correct word is - the name of - these little bannery things (I don't know what to call them) - that you get on Facebook and that people send to each other - with pics and quotes. Or just quotes, or funny sayings etc etc. Are they called memes? Kind of just borrowing Richard Dawkins's word to name a small part of what I think he meant a meme to be. Or are they stickies?
