Why ???

Well... because... of course. ???
I needed to shield the pick-up cavities because the buzz was annoying,
which meant dismantling and clipping the wires anyway.
Then I started wondering what it would look like if you could actually see the contrast of white and chrome on a black background.

Then some "clip, clip" and a general dismantle.

At this point um having my doubts if um doing the right thing. ???

I ran out of time coz life has other obligations to keep me busy.
We're on stage on Sunday and I needed to complete this task.
A shim in the neck. I packed the pup cavities with stickyback shielding tape,
Ran grounding wires to all the cavities and pick-ups.
Fitted fresh Elixers... Checked the action & intonation.
and Bob's yer Uncle... Now to put it to the test at Hillcrest Quarry on Sunday afternoon.
If I get egg on my face, I'll let youz know... ?

that "oh poop I've gone too far to go moment" is quite intense isn't it? lol...been there done that. it gets easier the more often you perform guitar surgery.

Can't go wrong with black. But personally over that vintage blonde? ummh, .... Anyways change as good as a holiday.

So far I have more nays than yays... :-[
The vintage creamy blonde was a hot favourite,
now it's just another black guitar :'(

Honey blonde or jet black, all make sound DaFiz. Its not the looks but the feel and tone that makes the difference to the player. My advice is to stop crucifying your decision to change the colour of the guitar and rather focus on the connection you have with the instrument. I have several electrics and acoustics and will mostly by choice use one acoustic, even for rock rhythms.
Why? Its not the guitar that matters but my personal personal preference and confidence that I can express myself better with this guitar.

Well, if it's making you sad you can always change it back! Or try another colour?

Don't get me wrong. I love the contrast of white & chrome on the black guitar and have no problem with it whatsoever... sorry If my post sounded like an indecision.
Those opinions were of other folks... not mine.
I also shimmed the neck and shielded the pick-up cavities and the "buzz" is gone.
I'm delighted 8)
