that Jimmy Page is a pain in the arse. What is he getting al shirty about a reunion for? Does he want this Plan fello wto throw in the towel warbling semi-country or what?
He's worried that the latest raft of plagiarism cases will bankrupt him, maybe.
He's been wanting a Zep reunion before that. Plant committed to some one-off shows, but never whole tours.
Plant's solo career has now run much longer than Zep ever did and really he's a successful brand and a name by himself now. He's had a string of strong records in different styles, won a grammy, got up the country charts (!) with his collaboration with Alison Krauss and has a good reputation as a live act with the various bands he's put together.
He's never disowned his history, but he keeps up to date as well and has wondered into the fringes of the World Music market - so he's not just a nostalgia act. This summer he's out on the road again with his new band Sensational Space Shifters (catch them at Glastonbury). Plant has the least need for a Zep reunion and has options other than looking backwards.
The plagiary suit, if it succeeds, won't wipe out Zep, it'll just take a cut of the LZ IV re-issue (when that happens).
Plant annoyed the Eagles by saying that the reason they got together for another tour was not because they needed the money but because they were bored. Plant's not bored. Plant's been having loads of fun these last few years.
