Websites that teach guitar.

Hi,

Has anyone used sites like Jamplay or guitartricks.com for purposes of bettering skills? How comprehensive is it? Would it be worth the money at all?
Reason for the question is that it is much cheaper per month than going to a physical teacher and you can play anytime you want or have time.

GuitarMasterclass.net has some awesome lessons. I've only used a few but they were very well done and easy-to-follow.

They provide videos, tabs, backing tracks, etc. Everything you need for each lesson. You can focus on specific techniques or playing like your hero.

Justinguitar is pretty good. Actually, one of the arguments in favour of a physical teacher is that you actually do practice, whereas the eternal patience of a website does not give you any urgency....

This is true, but in my case that is only 45 minutes a week with a physical teacher that I can ask questions if I get stuck, when leaving you are on your own again till the next session, and at R 120 per 45 minutes it is way more economical to try the website option if only for a month. But your argument is valid, I have watched countless videos over and over on how to play the intro for 'Money for Nothing', and I just cannot get it, starting to think that I should pursue other hobbies just because of that one.

I had a free month or something at Jamplay with a pedal I bought or something. I really enjoyed Jamplay and it seems to have gotten better lately too.

There is SO much free stuff out there too, that I often wonder if it's worth paying? http://www.guitarworld.com/ has awesome lessons every day.

What might help you is what I do. I record the lesson. Obviously with the permission of your teacher.
