my new trio ...Jazz on Blue are doing their 1st full gig at Indulgence cafe (northcliff jhb) this fri 9th May
with this project we have tried to infuse street performance vibe into traditional jazz ...
the music that forms the basis are traditional jazz standards BUT we perform and arrange them in our own unique style of improvisation based performance ...so no two gigs are ever the same ....
current lineup is Donnagh "hotlips"Roberts as the main frontline singer(kwazulu natal uni music school / local Barnyard theatre ) , Shauli "sticks' EL on vocals/percussion/mouth organ( studied indian percussion/trumpet /indian flute ) myeslf on guitar and percussion (you all know my pedegree) all 3 of us have extensive international experience performing and love the old jazz but bring a street performance vibe into it ......
