Tele bridge pup opinions

Hi All

Does anyone have any experience with the Bareknuckle Pile Driver tele bridge pup? I have listened to the clips on the site and it seems to handle rock an metal fairly well, but that tele "quack" isn't there ( to my ears at least ).
I suppose I'm looking at a bridge pup where I can have the "quack" when clean,and/but a pup that can handle decent overdrive/distortion as well when needed.
I remember a post by Alan advising that medium output is better than high as the high output does the dirt well, but is not really excellent at the rest .
The reason I'm asking is that I am in the process of putting together a alder body/maple neck "mashup" ( think along the lines of the Tee Vee or Tee byrd ) and would like to make sure ( or try ) that it's not a one trick pony.
So, any views on the Pile Driver or alternatively "The boss" from Bareknuckle or any other equivalent that you can suggest. SD Quarter Pounder maybe?
For the neck, I'm thinking of going with a Dimarzio Pro track or something along those lines.

The Quarter Pounder is good for a hotter (but not humbucker hot) Tele bridge. DiMarzio Area Hot T is also a good one. I don't know the others, but compare specs. Just remember that generally, the hotter you go, the less twang, but the more midrange grunt for drive, so there's a bit of a tradeoff - how much you are willing to trade off one for the other is up to you..

BTW - the DiMarzio Area T615 looks interesting. Between the Area T (Vintage) and Area Hot T (Hot) in output, it seems designed specifically for the player who wants a good balance between vintage and rock tones.

I ve got a set of Onamac Tele "Hot Specials" on the way to me, Kerry Learned is a winder on the US east coast, and supplies pickups to many boutique builder like Witfill Custom Guitars here Jack Pearson tries out a tele loaded with "Hot Specials" at NAMM

FYI On the local front I'm waiting on a bridge pup from Pete Buckle (Luthier/Winder in Benoni) give me a week or so I can give an opinion of that.

Had "The Boss", best tele bridge pu if you don't mind a bit of hum. Got plenty tops and added low mids, really just a hotter vintage tone. Couldn't justify keeping it when I sold my hollow body Tele (not thinline).

been using a GFS neovin for bridge pu, no hum, the tone isn't perfect but its the closest I've found in the tops in the humcancelling world. (I haven't tried the dimarzio area range tho so salt required- i have tried: cool and hot rails, Fastrack 1, 2, T, stacked seymour duncan something, EMG Tele set)

But now I found a guy who will wind pretty much anything at a fair price. Neil Pincus on the west rand. And I'm returning to standard singles.

So The Boss is my recommendation or something similar...

Go have a look at what the new seymour duncans are going to be retailing at. It's financially feasible for us to support local builders, because its going to be custom made for us and cheaper. Only catch is you need to know what you want / dont want.

I just put in a naughty order for a Humbucker bobbin with a mix of rod magnets and dummy slugs (no bar magnet) so a custom z coil (think G&L) that looks like a humbucker. I swear ill post a review when I get it.

I told him I was in no rush as its a fathersday gift. So we all will have to excercise some patience.
