Hi All,
I bought a used Fender Custom Shop Strat the other day. :goodtimes:
Its a Fiesta Red 1960 Reissue Relic.
Only problem is the Certificate of Authenticity in the case has a different serial number to that on the guitar neckplate which has the same number as that on the swing tag. ☹
I have been in touch with the Fender Custom Shop Support and my guitar is genuine (bet you were thinking it was a partscaster/fake/fraud/Chinese etc.).?
So the question is where is the '62 Heavy Relic Surf Green Strat Serial Number R54649, cause I have the COA for it?
Maybe whoever owns that guitar has a COA for a 1960 Relic Fiesta Red Strat Serial Number R56687 in their case and they would like to swap COA's?
I do realise its a long shot that both guitars came to SA and the COA's got mixed up here, with the odds being they got confused before they got shipped and the Surf Green one is somewhere in the US but I thought I would give it a try cause you never know.
So if anyone out there has, or knows someone who has a 2010 Surf Green Fender Heavy Relic '62 Start, have a look at the CoA and give me a shout if the numbers on the neckplate and the CoA are not the same!!!

Contact Robin at Fender. He may well be able to help.

Gary,
Is it not possible that the guy who you bought it from has the other Custom Shop?
Though I suppose he was the first person you asked?!
