New Vintage Tele Day and New Vox

So I've changed my mind on bigger is better and started getting rid of my big amps looking for a smaller valve amp for recording and i need more studio gear.
a Fellow musician with whom my band always gig with traded me these two babies for one of my amps. It's a old Ibanez Telecaster made in Japan (i'm guessing it's 70's) and a VOX AC4C1-BL.

I love the Tele but I'm mostly a bassist and i'm trying to be a producer so as soon as I get confirmation that the guy is 100% happy with the Amp i'm going to put the tele on the classifieds. Can anyone tell me what the street price of this guy would be? Ebay had ibanez axes of this era going between $400 up to $800. The guitars condition is brilliant!!! 9/10 and it still has the ashtray cover that nobody uses but it looks cool 8)

interesting indeed ...it's Ibanez's own twist on a tele as the switch and the bridge and the position of guitar jack socket is all wrong for a correct Fender tele copy ... ALSO note that the neck pickup on this ibanez is a single coil like you should find in the bridge position on a Fender tele and the smaller chrome covered pickup on the ibanez is in the bridge position not the neck like on a fender so these are swopped around ..

but sure looks good...what radius is the neck? 7.25 ? or the modern 9.5 ?

as for price ... i couldnt say .... with old guitars like this it's worth what someone will pay for it....

but when you decide what you want , drop me a personal msg/mail as if the price is right i may be interested especially if it has a 7.25 radius on the fretboard ...

and i just love tele's and buy way too many of em ...i love that colour ....

I had a similar model from the same era for a while (which a previous owner had fitted with EMG-T pickups). Mine had a more traditional ashtray bridge, rather than the unusual horseshoe one yours has and the control layout was conventional too (but I'm not sure if that had been changed with the pickups). I stripped and French polished the body and discovered it was made with two layers of mahogany blockboard, faced front and back with maple veneer.

Not a bad guitar, but also not great. Probably not really worth much on the local market IMO. Has some oddity value, but not really a better instrument than a decent Squier.

Those necks are very narrow, it's far closer to a 7.25 then a 9.5, but check it out first cause I don't remember it being a traditional 7.25. Very nice necks though.

They tend to actually sell between R2000 - R2700 depending on quality and condition and a serious collector.

Thought I read once those ( and Grecos etc) were made at Fugi-Gen, one of the reasons Fender gave Fugi-Gen the Fender Contract.
