Would someone that is currently on Trinity grade 5 classical guitar, and is working through Asturias and Capricho Arabe be considered Intermediate?
Closer to advanced by my standards, but I think it will depend more on your compositional skills than your playing repertoire.
If in doubt, record your piece and let Adrian or myself preview it before the competition due date and we'll try and place it accurately for you.
Yes, before the due date, send a link to me or Alan, although Alan is more qualified to decide ?
And to everyone else: I realise this is a somewhat tricky challenge, so for the Beginner-Intermediate category; you may choose to do either something acoustic or 'world' music.
It doesn't have to be both. But of course you are not prevented from doing both if you want.
For the Advanced-Professional: You must at least try follow the World Music theme. Whether you use acoustic is up to you - it may put you in a stonger position from a voting perspective to use acoustic, but you won't be penalized if you dont. A good song is a good song.
I'd also take advantage of Alan's and Manfred's recording services - it's really a great offer by the both of them.
Don't forget to email me the song and the link to the song.
Happy writing/recording
