Hhhmm, for some reason some of the images in my previous posts are no longer there. If i quote or edit, I see the links, so I can only assume that the original image has shifted location (Those were only on facebook, so I guess it is possible), anyway, I am gonna host the next ones somewhere a little more reliable, so hopefully they'll stick around.
So, at this point, the body of my guitar is fully bound, and I have located and filled any tiny air gaps and holes...although I am sure I will find more this weekend...Everything is looking mostly flush and tidy, which makes me feel great ?
Last weekend, we cut an oval soundport in the upper bout. The plan is to add a chamfer to it's edge, to replicate the chamfer on the hollow of the headstock. As a reinforcement, I bent and glued a kiaat/maple/ebony laminate to the inner side. This will replicate the layers on the headstock chamfer ?
So, here are a few shots of the soundport.

Man I love those stripes on the rib bevel.
Here is a nice shot of the top, with the details mostly tidy and only one or two spots that have been filled needing sanding flush.
