Binding router bit

Hey guys! I'm trying to finish my cabronita thinline but can't seem to find a way to cut the binding channel nicely - anybody have any tips?

Otherwise, is there anybody in Joburg or Pretoria who has a way/tools to help?

~~Do you have access to a router table?~~ Edit: never mind... just saw read the title again... If so, a rabetting bit should sort you out.

How deep the bit cuts into the body is set with the size bearing you use. the smaller the bearing the deeper it cuts. I'm sure you should be able to find one locally?

I have access to tools - can't find the bits I need locally.

I also don't really want to buy a whole new bit plus shipping when all I need is one channel cut - thus the question whether anybody has available locally.

If you're willing to take a drive down- past the boerewors curtain- to Benoni You could probably use my router table and rebate bits? Its pretty capable of cutting a binding recess. It has adjustable bearing sizes depending on how deep you need it.

Thanks for that guys! I live in Melville now so neither of those are too far - Geert which do you have? I need to cut a 1,5mm slot essentially.

If you have a dremel (or cheaper copy), there a small cutter bits quite cheap at good hardware stores. ... but i had to build my own guide attachment ☹
