JoeyBones I saw this Steve Vai clip on YouTube and he was talking about this new technique in guitar fretting. http://www.truetemperament.com/ Is is really worth the trouble ?
AlanRatcliffe People have been making "true" temperment or "perfect pitch" fretboards for years. In short, most of us can hear the intonation problems with standard tuning if we listen. I have seen "perfect pitch" fingerboards that had a different fret for almost every single note on the neck - they play in tune everywhere, but you can't bend on them. The whole thing of some open chords being out of tune with the rest is the common complaint and is the reason that the guys with perfect pitch usually play keyboard, not guitar. But I don't think it's necessary to make wavy frets to cure it - the Buzz Feiten tuning system and the Earvana nuts bring the whole intonation issue well under control, without resorting to any major manufacturing headaches like trying to install wavy frets.
JoeyBones This is the great thing about this forum. We can come here ask stupid questions and get educated answers }?) I see Earvana have a Floyd Rose Style nut as well. I gonna have to think about the RT upgrades a little more.
NorioDS I agree -- and keep saying that to everyone. We were all "stupid" once. You only get educated by asking questions constantly ?
