Germanium AC128 Transistor

I am almost certainly considering building a Dallas Rangemaster clone/spinoff according to this:

Does anybody know where those 'magical' AC128 can be found? The pedal kind of rests on finding that transistor, I am not going to go with silicone unless there is no other option. And even then I may as well just can it. (I have tried both Comunica and Mantech.)

Josh you will find them at older electronic stores, Benji bought about 130 of these from my "merchant", last year,

Problem is they are prone to high failure rates due to age.... try the man ...

I like that pedal too much ........

@Attila: When you say "they are prone to high failure rates due to age" how bad is it? I did see your post in a search but I was not sure if it was still relevant. ? Also, would Benji do a custom build based off a schematic I provided??

He's done a rangemaster before for aja. That was a custom thing from a competition though...

I looked for one about two years ago for a fuzz factory build, but no success. I definitely also would like to know where to get a pair of them!

@Josh you could have 30 -50 % of a batch that are "leaky" which make them unsuitable,
