I wonder if there are any reliable ways to guard against this pro-actively. I'm 27 now and can totally feel myself getting older. I cant play soccer as many days in a row as I once could before my legs just die for a few days. It sucks.
Would be nice to do everything in my power to make sure I can always play guitar as many days in a row as I would like to.
By the time I was 26 I was struggling to stand up without serious knee pain and, in winter, my hands couldn't close. As a programmer and a guitarist, these arthritic symptoms scared the crap out of me. Not to mention I was just friggin 26!
I started getting used to the idea that I was getting old and that I'd always experience these problems. I hated it but I figured it was just the hand I got dealt.
Around the same time, I figured out that I was lactose intolerant. Cutting out milk fixed my sinus issues and cramps.
This is related, I promise...
Coincidentally, a little while later I read
an article about Paleo and decided to give it a go.
My arthritis went away. I was sitting down and standing up again without pain in my joints and my hands were fully functional irrespective of the weather.
Other things changed too. I had more energy, my weight stopped fluctuating so wildly, chronic heartburn disappeared for good, and building muscle became easier.
Give Paleo a shot.
