UNDOUBTEDLY I'll be there, partying in CT. 8)
Also going to JHB but just to watch Biffy
Will be at the JHB one. Keen for Biffy and Trivium ? Good lineup of local bands too ?

So I'll be seeing you all there?! ?
I'll be at CT Ramfest this weekend. I personally don't love the camping and sacrificing the whole weekend but the line-up is pretty killer and I think I bailed quite early the last Ramfest I attended (ages ago, I think it was the Pendulum year) so I've never experienced the full festival.
Man I am so bleak to have to miss this one. Alas I am broke this month. Broke like I have not been since my student days.
It's bleak, I love Biffy Clyro, and I reckon they're the kind of band who would play a lot of old stuff, which in their case, is awesome.

Please could someone take note of whether they play "now the action is on fire" or not. ?

Got a few of their recent live albums but they didn't play that - a few other early ones (There is no such thing as a jaggy snake, Justboy, Glitter and trauma, Diary of always). Haven't been this excited to see a band in ages - even if there's rain...

                And sound's good Choklit!

Yeah I know they didn't play it on their live at wembley album. I have some old eps (eradicate the doubt era) where they play that live, and also an amazing live version of 57...way better than the wembley one.

Ah man, Jaggysnake live, I have Fomo already dude. Imagine if they got up and played vertigo of bliss in its entirety. Ah now I'm just fantasising.
I'm going to the Cape Town one ?
Can't wait to see Trivium and Killswitch Engage! \m/-_-\m/
                      5 days later
So what are the thoughts/reviews of this years CT Ramfest?
I don't know about CT, but Biffy Clyro absolutely killed it in JHB. That was definitely one of the best live performances I have ever seen.

Trivium and Killswitch were decent too, but not quite on the same scale as Biffy.
                          Cape Town:

I had zero interest in Trivium, combination of their new material and bad sound (super treble). Killswitch Engage were awesome (one of the main bands I went for) but Foals and Biffy Clyro actually put on the best shows. I didn't love the vocals of Foals (simply a style thing) but their sound was awesome, they were tight and they have some "heavier" stuff which I liked. Biffy Clyro were awesome, they played longer than other bands it seems but they rocked pretty damn hard, I got a little tired though near the end so didn't mind it ending. Didn't realize how much material I hadn't heard by Biffy.

I found Trivium's sound wasn't bad at all.. I'm just really not a fan of the vocals.

I really didn't enjoy Foals. Maybe I just don't know their stuff, but I really wasn't impressed.

Biffy's latest album is 21 tracks or so... they had a lot of stuff to play! It seemed they played mostly tracks from Opposites and Only Revolutions.
I was at the JHB one and Biffy and Foals made my life!! ? ? ? Can't say I gave a flying aardvark about Killswitch and Trivium though... Biffy and Foals were just too much! I am still reeling from how awesome they were
I thought Killswitch was the best, though Biffy was also very good just a bit long and tiring.
Trivium's sound wasn't bad at all at Joburg but I don't like some of their stuff. As for foals their tones are really unique and interesting and the drums sounded amazing but a lot of their songs don't go anywhere.

IMO overall it was an awesome show and worth the rain ?

Yip ? And sounded great too

I didn't see any Kemper's on stage but I did see that everyone on stage changed instruments for every song, which i thought was kinda cool
I saw a Fender Deville and a Peavey Delta Blues both into 4x12's mic'ed with e609's (I think) on Simon Neil's side. Dunno what the touring guitarist guy used though; he was kinda in the shadows. Choklit did they really change every song I don't seem to remember it being that often (although I was being blinded by one of the frikkin' stage lights most of the time >☹ ). They did change a lot though.

I was under the impression that Trivium were using the Fractal stuff so I'm interested to hear about the Kempers too.
