I love that '74 SG (although TBH I don't love the harmonica bridges–and in contrast I love that your '94 has an ABR1). Does it have an ebony board? Great additions to this thread

This is my 2010-odd Tokai SG88 (Japanese-made). Plays and sounds gorgeous. A little plain, maybe, compared to some on this thread, but I am gonna miss this instrument...

The more sharp-eyed of you may have noticed those strings really need a change...

She's a beaut! I for one love the "plain" look. It's kinda classic while still being edgy seeing as it's an SG.

I'll admit that white SGs aren't my fave, but Tokai SGs combine all the features I like in an SG. Deep bevels. Small pickguard. ABR1 bridge, and small headstock.

Mostly why I bought the guitar singe, and they sound magnificent as well. That old black magic called twang is available, when needed and dialled in all proper-like, but you also get decent rawk if you want. A proper working man's guitar...

Not letting go of it easily, but truth be told I just can't find a comfy position to play this guitar. Simple as that. As I said in the classified, I think, you either is an SG type, or you ain't.

So sad to say, I ain't

SGs are great to play sitting down. Standing you just need a strap with a rough shoulder patch with good friction.

But saying that, some SGs have more neck-dive than others. Adding a Bigsby B5 and also help while increasing the versatility of the guitar.

Oddly enough, this one's quite well balanced, neck's not too heavy at all. I mostly play with my guitars perched on my right leg; maybe that's my problem. Maybe I'll give it another bash tonight on the ol' left leg and see if that sorts the issue; has done on my acoustic, dunno why I never thought of it before.

As for standing up, I've been using a suede PRS strap, but I do have one hanging around that sounds closer to what you're describing. And it's white, bonus! I'll try that and see what happens.
