Ok, the deal is done! Many, many thanks to fellow forumite Aubs who's a super chap, an absolute gent, and was prepared to let his mint condition black SG Standard go for such a reasonable price! I showed her the pics last week and she said to me that if I reckoned it was a good instrument when I saw it then she'd be happy to go for it. The guitar was precisely as described and in perfect working order and plays like a dream (once I got used to the super low action and slinky 10s!).
She's absolutely delighted, loves the feel and the light weight! She's joining the band that her boyfriend and I are in (Cardinal Sin, expect to see us regularly on the Joburg gigging circuit soon), she's replacing our ex-rhythm guitarist who had to quit due to family commitments. Anyway, that means I'm giving her a crash course in electric guitar techniques, as well as getting her up to speed with the band's repertoire, we had a blast jamming the afternoon away yesterday!
