I think that generally with guitars it's a game of diminishing returns - for acoustics and electrics. As you go up the price curve you get less extra bang for the extra bucks.
This is more an observation than a criticism. I think it's an 80:20 game - you can get 80% for 20% of the money. To get the last 20% of tone and excellence of construction takes the other 80% of the money. You
do get more. Maybe the big increments come in lower down - the 6K guitar is twice the 3k guitar. But the 40k guitar is not twice the 20k guitar.
