Hi guys....i don't know if i should create a new post / topic, but I did a search and it didn't return anything...little disussion about guitar movies....
I've been searching the internet for about a month now...I've been on every tab site, every blues site, youtube...you name it...
I'm looking for tabs for the song "Stack O' Lee" as played by Sam Jackson in the movie Black Snake Moan. (I even considered sending a fan mail to Samuel himself...but I doubt it'll reach him ?
From what I can gather, he actually studied guitar like a monster for about 7 months before the movie..although he can play those songs, he wasn't able to do it good enough for the soundtrack so the band playing with him in the movie did the Sound Recordings....anyway...it's an old blues murder myth with the caracters "Stack O' Lee" and "Billy Lions" and there's like a 100 versions of this song. Most Famous player was Missisipi John Hurt, but his version is very ...wel cute if you listen to this ons. R.L Burnside wrote a similar version than the one Jacskon plays in the movie. The only tab I could found looks like the MJH version.
I'm looking for anyone who can help me to play this in any way. Tabs would be AWESOME, but any additional info on where I can look, who I can contact to tab this for me..whatever - anything! I MUST LEARN TO PLAY THIS SONG!! I'll even pay for the tab....its just, I'm only playing for 2 years now and don't know my fretboard so well that I can figure it out, but I know I'll be able to play it. (I can play Black Snake Moan and Bird Without a Feather from the movie as I found the tabs....but for some reason, the coolest song on the soundtrack is as mysterious as the guy you see everyday, but have no idea who he is....
Please guys, I'm on my knees here!!
PS: I'll post the videos of the song in the video section (the one Samuel plays in the movie, LR Burnside version and then there was one cover where you can see a little bit if the guys' hands, but to blury for me to make out...if you would like to give it a go (tabs).

Hey SRV
I searched high and low for tabs this is what I found, you need to embellish a bit to get that delta blues thing happening:
Stack O' Lee Blues
Words from the Movie, Music by Mississippi John Hurt
original transcription by Stefan Grossman
typed in by me: Terry Henning
(This just repeats for all the verses. It's played very fast. I timed the
section below from the tape and MJH plays the whole thing in about 11 sec.
- Just to give an idea of tempo) Also, it sounds like it is played with
a capo on the 1st fret.

This heres a song from back in the day
19 hundred and 62
My woman put my black ass out in the cold
I asked baby why you leavin and she said
Our love done gone cold
Well I waded through water
and waded through mud
till I done come to this place
called the bucket of mud
You know that bartender give me a dirty look and a dirty glass
I said Say Motherfucker do you know who I am?
Hell ‘naw, Nigger! I don’t give a god damn!
I reached down in my pocket and pulled out my shiny 44
Shot that motherfucker twice
He hit the god damn floor
About that time you couldn’t have heard the drop of a pin
That’s when that bad motherfucker billy Lions walked in
Bout that time a pimp he eased up and turned off the lights
That’s when I had ole’ Billy lions dead in my sites
When the lights come back on ole’ Billy gone and rest
I’d pumped nine of my bullets in his MOTHER FUCKIN CHEST
Enjoy
