A while back I posted some shots of a Tomahawk my brother made.
Here are some shots of his first locking folder.
Ns90 stainless steal heat treated blade and Red Ivory burlwood handle.

The burl was cut off a Berchemia zeyheri {Red Ivory } tree growing on a friends farm in the Magaliesburg. The whole burl was cut off with a chainsaw causing no harm to the tree.

That's really cool ? I dig that he uses materials that are not just bought. Just like the tomahawk handle from your own tree ? it adds a cool personal touch

Very, very sweet - He's got talent! Dig the comfy looking handle and the blade design works for me - kinda suggests a clip point, but it's clearly not.

Didi he design and make the blade from scratch? I was a avid reader of Magnum mag (waaaaay) back in the day and knife fabrication absolutely fascinated me.

Yep everything made from scratch except the brass pins which are cut from a brazing rod.
The blade is hand ground from a high carbon stainless steel called N690 {Not NS90 as I said earlier.} The blade is then heat hardened. From this point the blade can only be buffed and sharpened.
