TMO(Two Month Old)GD: Gibson SGJ Chocolate

I've had this guitar for about two months now and it just keeps getting better (more on that later)!

I bought it from Thomann at the end of November. It’s their exclusive version of the 2013 SGJ. The normal SGJ version has black plastic pick-up covers and black tuning pegs and mine has no covers and the vintage green pegs, which to me looks much better and cost less. Double win!

Landed with taxes, the guitar was +-R8000.

Here are the specs:
Mahogany body
Maple neck with 24 frets
Rosewood fretboard
490R & 490T pickups
Chrome hardware

The finish is a really thin layer of nitrocellulose with a satin feel. The nice thing is that the more you play, the smoother the finish gets, so the neck just keeps getting faster (it was already fast when I got it).

Gibson has not officially stated what the J stands for but the consensus is that it's for Junior. It's just the cheapest SG Gibson makes, so there is no scale or size difference from other SGs.
