I'm not sure what is going to be harder, recording the composition or picking a band!

That list is quite broad, I only got down to the letter C, and I see artists ranging from Tori Amos to Creed to Bjork. I wouldn't categorise them under the same genre by any stretch of the imagination.

Such a broad topic! ? I guess alternative is a blanket term for anything that isn't "mainstream" rock?
Never thought I'd see the likes of the arctic monkeys, 30 seconds to mars, Coldplay, blink 182, kasabian, Nickelback, the cardigans, nirvana and Alanis morissette lumped together ???

Edit: where do the Parlotones fit in with all this?

Yes. I think its a wonderful theme. Its so easy, yet so broad. So just pick a band you like, do a song that could sound like them (note please don't cover them) and we'll vote based on how close that sounds to that specific band.

i already have my band chosen.

I worked on my entry a little during the week, and have spent some time finishing up tracking this morning:

It's coming along nicely, now to do a bit of mastering and hope it sounds good in the end!
