Hey guys
I'm using Sonar LE with Guitar Rig 3 (still the demo version) as a plugin. Now when used as a standalone application, I hear the full effect of GR as I play - real time monitoring with all effects...lekker! However, when used as a plugin in Sonar LE, I can only hear the unprocessed guitar sound whilst monitoring during recording, the GR effects and amp simulations can only be heard once applied and the track is played back.
Now I can see the advantage of recording a dry guitar signal as one can do more with it in terms of adding effects later on, yes. But I would like to hear the full processed sound (now that's wet isn't it?) during recording. I figure that the subtle difference in style while playing with real time effects, as one would with a pedalboard DI, would make for better playing.
So can this be done with Sonar LE and GR as a plugin? I thought about using the tape deck recording function on GR and importing that track into Sonar, but then there are issues with timing and so on.
Does aux send and returns, which I don't know anything about at this point, have anything to do with it? Or do I need more hardware? Currently I use a Edirol FA-66 and PC with an Edirol MIDI controller keyboard only. The FA-66 outputs to a hifi amp and speakers.

I have never used LE, but it should have a button (or a setting) on each track called "Input Echo". Enable that and you'll get the effected sound when you record.

No question re music is ever a stupid one ?
I use Cubase and there is a monitor button (a speaker icon thingy) on the controls next to each track. This allows me to monitor the wet signal that is being recorded to the specific track. Ok now a stupid answer ?... check if the "DIRECT MONIT" pot is not set fully on one side.

Thanks guys! It is the Input Echo button, it works! LOL... :-[... and here I was expecting a complicated answer involving busses and aux and cables all over the desk... Just a simple button... Man, this forum is just great!
