Squier Standard Series HSS Strat for Cort X6 Opinions

Hi all
So I got an email the other day from a guy that I know that wants to swop his Cort X6 for my Squier Standard Series HSS.
I wanted to ask you guys whether this is a fair trade
If any of you guys have played an X6 could you give me your opinion on it
I also wanted to ask Alan what the retail price for each guitar is ?

I liked the X-6 I played but it is a bit of a shredders axe. Same basic shape as my X1 (even the necks are the same thin, wide flattish radius style) the differences being the pickups, configuration HSH, it has a Floyd (yuck) and the body wood. The pickups are also hotter than what you'll get on a squier strat.

I think your Squier is more versatile. The cort itself isn't a 1 trick pony. I get some lovely strattish clean tones from my X-1 with its high output ceramic pickups.

My advice, try before you buy (or in your case, swap)

I don't have a Fender price list (I've asked them a few times, but never get one). The Cort is R3,595 retail.

DIfferent animals really... So I agree - play the Cort first and see if it suits you.

i picked up a used Cort K6 this week with EMG 81/85 at an absolute steal, and i must admit the quality is actually not bad at all - night and day compared to my first court when i was a lightie. i had to tweak the setup a little by blocking the tremolo off etc… but its a good weighty guitar , the hardware is solid and it plays great.

What kind of music do you want to play with it? decide if you want the hotter pickups and try it out to see if you like it.
Your HSS may be a bit more versatile if you like playing clean - but my vote will always go to more hum buckers.
