Not sure, I thought the JD was given to "Jerry Donahue" Models although JD models don't have rosewood necks, although I could be mistaken. Does that have a v neck shape?

If it were a Donahue tele wouldn't it have a strat pickup at the neck and a five position switch with trick wiring?

What a nice looking guitar. I liked the one MIJ Bigsby Tele I played a lot. Great choice in amp too, very glad you took the monkey's advice, now just learn to control that overdrive from the volume knobs of the tele (They are magnificent at this little trick) and you'll be happy for life.
