I watched a rig rundown for Rich Robinson of the Black Crowes in which his tech talked about a huge flood in Atlanta (if I'm remembering) that swamped the warehouse in which all of Rich's vintage and rare guitars were housed. Some were destroyed. Some were extensively damaged. The only guitar that was untouched was in one of these:
It wasn't a Gibson but had been put in one of these '70s/'80s Gibson "protectors." As the flood levels rose, the case - with a bone dry guitar inside - simply floated on top.
