Of course not. Pearloid pickguards are actually made of shells of the Flatback Turtle, a species that is endemic to Australian waters. In the US they can only use turtle shells that have been washed ashore in states like Hawaii because of strict conservation laws, this is why such pickguards are so expensive. ?
