Eno-Music EX Mini Series Pedals

Hey Guys,

I'd been hearing about these pedals for a while, they showcased at NAMM and had a good response and will be a MESSE this year. They found Ashton Audio and we started chatting and I asked about construction, models, we chated pricing and then I bought in some samples, for the price they are amazing!

They are based in China and what they've managed to do is pretty remarkable. Each of the enclosures are tiny, Hammond 1590A style, two of them side by side are around the size of Boss pedal. They are all clones of of standard pedals, bar the analog delay.

So the ES-9 is a TS9, the Trouble Overdrive is an OCD and the Fuzz is a Big Muff Pi. Having compared them side by side I'm most impressed. The Big Muff doesn't have as low a low end as the NYC big box, but in the same territory. The ES-9 is spot on the TS9, but just not as much output level, but still plenty good and the Trouble is a great OCD clone.

Obviously compromise has to be made to get them into such tiny enclosures. All the onboard components are SMD, but all of them feature Neutrik style jacks and are true-bypass. No space for a battery and several of the controls are on mini pots, much like the MI Audio stuff, best for set and forget style playing, but the small foot print, quality parts and price make them very attractive.

Honestly I have no intention of going into the MI market, I'm too busy with the Pro Audio stuff, but much like I did with the Cioks kit, since I've established the contact I'd be willing to do a Group Buy, if Alan allows it?

The same time every other manufacture did, including DSP driven 'analog' pedals ?

Seriously though, yes, it's a self contained digital chip but the filtering is remarkable in matching the analog feel and tone of old bucket brigade pedals, at a fraction of the price. The wet/dry blend in a small pedal is a great addition, one you don't often see on pedals, esp. at that price point.

The Princeton chips are used in countless 'analog delay' pedals that days, can't blame EX For using similar nomenclature as the pedal sounds nothing like a pristine digital delay with wonderfully 'organic' sounding tails and repeats.

You said no place for a Battery????? Can they run off 9v battery even if it's outside the casing or just external power ?

I don't think the boxes will be able to tell the difference, Keira. 9V is 9V so long it does not become 8V.

Pretty standard for the mini pedals.

Yup - just wire a battery clip to a DC power plug (or three) to make an external battery supply. Most analog pedals - especially drives - draw so little current that even powering three or four with one battery works well.

Hi Guys,

To answer a couple questions, I'll keep the order running till end-Jan. The cut off will be Jan 31st, that will allow those who might want to buy them, but waiting on pay checks to participate.

In order to had over the discounts to you guys and make sure the costs are covered I'll need payment upfront. It doesn't include delivery options if you're outside of CPT, where you can collect, but 2-3 pedals will easily fit in an overnight bag, counter-to-counter.

Over the next day or two I'll get the full list of pedals up here, for those that might want to order something different over the 4 stock samples I bought in.

Studmissle, no, no reverb just the analog delay and an ambient echo. Here's a clip of the echo, which is more of a modulated short delay.

Keira, as others have pointed out, yet, it will run off a 9V battery, but outside of the enclosure.
