Atmarama Hey folks, I just found old Nelson here. But I can find absolutely no info on "President" badged guitars. It was made in Japan, has a bolt on neck, bigsby tremelo and pretty sweet sounding pickups. I found him the day after Mandela left his body, so he was named in honour of the great man... Any info would be much appreciated! Thank you ?
Manfred-Klose i owned a guitar exactly like this one a few years back (I think it might even be this exact one ? ) could not find much info , except for an old brochure somewhere on the net, and little bit of info on Japanese guitar forums.

Thanks Manfred, that's still more than I've been able to find hey... You don't know which way to go to find that old brochure and info hey?
Shibbibilybob I'm afraid I am of little help here too, but I started my playing career on a 12string president acoustic that belonged to my aunt of uncle (someone in their house). Someone had converted it to a 6 string guitar with nylon strings (presumably just by putting six strings on it, three of them nylon, as the strings did not sit nicely in the nut). This is the first time I have seen anything on these guitars since.

Attila It was in all likelihood made in the Matsumoku factory in Japan. One of our forumers have one exactly the same with an Aria badge, I cant remember who for the moment. I had an Aria 5102T 335 copy law suit headstock e'tal http://www.matsumoku.org/guitars.html for more info. They essentially built and badged guitars for almost everyone. Its a pity the label inside the top F-hole has been partially removed as that may give you more clues
studmissile Very obscure, best guess 60's and a toss up between Kawai, Teisco, Tombo, Matsumoku maybe even Guyatone.
