So a little while ago I thought I’d build myself a guitar, fully realising that I was in for the long haul with the philosophy of “paying work will always come first”. Little did I realise that it would end up taking me 2 years to try and squeeze this build in between all the other things I had going on!
Some pics of the final product of that marathon...
Finally had some time this weekend to get her assembled and strung up, maybe I should have strung myself up rather? ???
I decided to go for an Emerald Green Candy finish to show off that pretty face, with a very light burst in the same paint. The finish screamed unusual, kinda like a hopped up sports car on steroids, so I tossed the idea of the chrome switch plate and made a carbon fiber one instead. :-[
A friend of mine, who builds acoustics, kindly twisted his wife's arm to do this 12th fret inlay for me, very happy with the way it turned out.
And finally a pic of the customised headstock, with my signature on the back. Still have a few things to sort out, like setting the action and intonation, I just hope that doesn't take me another two years to get to that! ?
