The Challenge Dec/Jan

FruitarGeek · 2013-12-01T10:45:28+00:00

This will be the last Challenge for the year, and until Pete takes over which will be in Feb sometime. I encourage everyone to participate, as this months theme is nice and vague and completely open to your interpretation. The theme: Woodstock You can for example play the type of genre/style that would be found in the Woodstock era, or you can pretend you are an artist who gets to play Woodstock and the song you submit is the song you'd play etc. These are just two suggestions out of countless. Go wild. I'm going to give you the holidays to work on something. I know there has been talk about the longer the time is to submit something the less likely someone is to actually submit, but thats nonsense. Do it this week and submit it to me as soon as possible if you want to then. PM me your entry on or before 12th Jan 2014 *Note: The 'sound' of the Woodstock era was not great. So don't worry too much on getting the sound or song to sound great, and just worry about submitting something. It was a very raw period in musical history.

Thanks to those who have submitted already. There is room for more, for those of you who like to submit late. I changed deadline to tomorrow (Monday) but realistically, as long as you PM me before I check GFSA on Tuesday morning, then I will add your entry. So G-man, if you find that you not so fatigued, then its not too late ?

Very exciting turnout though 8)

I'll try and get my entry in this evening. I just moved house and managed to unpack all my gear and lay down a few riffs before bed last night.

Last year was extremely unproductive. I think this year it is time to simply start recording ideas, turning those ideas into tracks, and to stop being lazy!

Despite my best intentions, I have been defeated by Eskom. I got home after work last night hoping to work on my track for an hour or two, but alas, my complex had no power. It still wasn't on at 6 this morning by the time I left for work, so unfortunately I won't be submitting my entry.

domhatch

damn shame that, complete and utter bummer.

still looking forward to seeing what was submitted. thinking that folks who don't meet the submission deadline, but still want to put what they did up, should definitely do so under the 'clips for review' section under a specific thread for comment and feedback. i'll be doing that from here on out - 2014 is definitely the year i get off my fat hind and do some serious work on my skills, in terms of pure guitar playing ability, as well as a theory and songwriting perspective.

can't actually believe what this site and its members has to offer. incredible. so inspiring

Can you all just give me a moment. One of the links/songs isn't where it should be, so I am trying to solve it with the challenger before we commence. But sooon ?
