The tonal variation shouldn't be surprising to anyone who has spent any time experimenting with miking things up.
However, the remote system for moving the mic around is very, very cool and will cut a lot of time and the need for a second/third person to move the mic around on instruction.

Actually, thanks to phase issues, it's almost always better to have one mic in the right position than two or three. The exception is having ambient mics further away to capture more of the room.
