Haha. You just beat me to this! I was about to post this too!
I was in contact with him about one or two of his models, but at present they're beyond my means, but he is making some amazing stuff! The Phantom pictured above is prob my favourite in terms of looks, but also like the 'Kind of Blue' and his 'Fab 4' acoustic. Being so far away though, I can only assume that they play as well as they look?!

He didn't say, but I got the impression that offers between R10k and R15k for his R20k+ guitars would be about right? Maybe a little less for certain models? I guess the lower the offer, the more likely you'll have to wait for a while as he mulls it over, and surveys his options?
Cheers

I have personally played on most of murrays guitars , they definitely worth every cent .... And i'm not the only one to think so as only last month Jonathan butler just bought one of his spitfire jazz guitars ... Used it at his jhb gig And took it to LA with him,
great designs and his acoustics are mostly very loud unplugged ...which is a good thing , thin finish's to enhance acoustic tone quality With beautiful wood too
murrays very approachable so contact him with querries

One of my mates picked up his moon and stars steel string yesterday after I sent him the link. I wont give away numbers, but he got an incredibly good deal on that guitar. Much cheaper than Murray would do any of his other acoustics, since it was one of the very first steel strings he built. Still, my homie got himself a handmade guitar for what is pocket change money in the world of handmade guitars.
Murray was wanting 5k for the walnut dino a few weeks ago. I presume that is also one of his early models, so add a few thousand and make an offer. He is very approachable and will listen to literally, all offers (My mate sent his offer as a complete shot in the dark, more to get a feel for ballpark...when Murray replied I thought he had forgotten a zero, but my buddy has the guitar, so evidently not).

I think the Moon and Stars steel string went especially cheap, as it had had a number of repairs done to it according to Murrays Pinterest page. I think thats why it was so much cheaper than the others, but I could be mistaken?
And yes the Dino was going for R5k, and he'd probably accept that for it now too I'd gather, but again, I can't speak for him. All I know is that my offer for the fab 4 was too low, and that he wanted more for the Phantom and Blue than the Fab 4.
The Fab4 acoustic has a special pickup (schertler I think?) fitted to it that cost R3k alone, plus the elcetronics and piezo, so that gives you an idea hopefully?
But yes, Murray is very approachable, and will just tell you straight if your offer is too low. Don't be afraid of making an offer, as Murray is all too aware that he's opened a potential can o worms! ?
