My new band: Stone Jets

Manfred-Klose

Hi Everyone.

I've been very busy lately.

Here is what i've been up to, my new band, STONE JETS

We do acoustic folk rock (or thats what i keep hearing)

Please have a listen, and let me know what you think

Facebook:
https://www.facebook.com/STONEJETSMUSIC
www.stonejets.com

our songs on soundcloud:

Our EP is also available on Itunes for a whopping R34.95
https://itunes.apple.com/za/album/river-ep/id726459261

I recorded and mixed the tracks myself, mastering was done by Lap Dust audio

Recording was really simple, set up a live band, and hit record until we got a good take.
I used TUL T12's on drum overheads, TUL F47 on vocals, these are very nice mics!!! give a very natural sound.
Its sounds abit rough, but the purpose of this is to have some demos people could listen to.
We plan on doing a Big album next year

we are playing at Ragazzi tonight in Cape town, 7pm free entry, if anyone want to come have a listen.

thanks

Manny

Excellent stuff Manny! River sounds especially good. Not a bad recording either. :applause:

Good Stuff.

have listened to all three tracks. Good recording, great guitar, vocals good stuff

domhatch

gotta say i like all three. river is probably the best recording of all of them, you're gone my favourite of the songs, and under your spell feels tightest. but all three very fine.

nice job

Great stuff! Really enjoyed that! May I ask how many mics did you use at once in total to record all this live?

Manfred-Klose

Thanks guys.

I will scratch around and see if i have some pics

mics on the kick was fairly simple:

kick - Audix D6
Snare- Sm57
OV L - T12
OV R - T12
High Tom - SM58
Floor Tom - AKG D112
Room mic - Rode K2

The bass amp was in the same room and was mic'd with the F47, so the Room mic picked up both and gave a nice spread

Alot of the sound i got from the overhead mics, with added reverb and compression

Electric guitars was done with my Eleven Rack

:applause: Very nice Manny. Really enjoyed that. :applause:

Thanks Manny ? ... Did you get session musos for the drums and bass since I see on facebook that you're a duo? Or did you track some things live and add other parts later?
