Some questions ...
Does anyone know how this thing works where you have your own 'channel' on Youtube? I have a brother in Oz - he likes to share music with me and he sends me links by email. Can't he set up a channel or something and I can just go and look whenever I feel like it? And in turn I can set up one of my music for him? Or for anyone in both our cases come to think of it.
What stops you, guitar teacher, from having a nice little channel of your own for your pupils in that case?
What is this safety mode thing? I can understand wanting to block unwanted ads but I am seeing that the official versions of songs are blocked - because of safety mode.

YouTube is great if you are sharing original material or a free lesson. But if you don't need video, its a huge waste of bandwidth just to share a song idea. Dropbox is better for that.
Also everytime you watch it, it eats bandwidth, so you can't save it or use it offline from YouTube.

You could also start a soundcloud profile thingy, which would allow you to compile playlists of music, and him to access your playlists at will.

Youtube is great as it appeals to a persons need to visually see the intrument being played, which often increases the impact of the listening experience.
For quick and easy audio only Souncloud is better.

Thanks for those suggestions. I guess maybe that's what we'll do - settle for soundtracks as with the safety mode thing you can't see the best versions anyway. His is more the progrock / metal stuff though and those videos seem free and fine. It's my old school stuff that you can't get nice video versions for. Soooo.... I think he can use Youtube and me Soundcloud.
