Yamaha FG 365 S Acoustic
ratrap
A friend asked me to look at his late brothers guitar with a view to him learning to play on it.
I was expecting to do the usual string change and tidy up but found that the action is a good 12mm off the fret board where it ends on the sound board! Closer examination reveals that the soundboard has an indentation where the fretboard extention is glued on and the heel of the neck is just beginning to separate from the back board.
Given the sentimental value he might want to spend what it takes to repair it.
Two questions....what is he in for in round budget figures and who would tackle this in Cape Town?
TIA
I just read that the correct term is that the top is sinking where the neck meets it! ?

Or if you're more peninsula side, try Matthias Roux in Kalk Bay (and he ahs a workshop in Cape point, if you live out in the sticks).
