Well the original was done on a guitar that is not a baritone, I'm also not sure that Taylor is, as for the originals he's strung with .13s tuned D-G-C-F-A-D, you really don't need a baritone for that.

Ah man, anything Andy Mckee just makes me want a fan-fret acoustic.
I've never played one. Can't vouch for them having any improvements, but it sounds plausible and I want one!

Fanned frets make a lot of sense with baritones and extended scale guitars.

I played a Lakewood baritone acoustic a while back and it sold me on the concept of baris. I play my own bass accompaniment and the bass strings on a bari are much closer to a bass - you can even slap them and get away with it.

Agreed, baritones are awesome, I tried the Ovation D-Scale Elite and it made me cry inside, if they had made it with the deep contour bowl I swear my wallet would have suffered.
