I've joined on son's behalf, he is 8 years old and is really keen to start playing guitar. He's saved enough money to buy his own....I'll provide the funding for lessons..... Now before I walk into a shop and just buy any guitar I thought it might be a good thing to do some research and voila found this forum. I'm hoping for some "sound" advice and leverage off the forum's expertise on classes etc....

The Mini has a Spruce solid spruce top ? But for a beginner this shouldn't make that much of a difference.
A slightly cheaper alternative to the Earth Mini is the Cort Jade1/Jade1E/Jade2. I honestly fell in love with the one I played (Jade2F) and it was pastel pink! ? Don't worry... You get the Jade1 in white, Natural and black ?
It's slightly bigger than the 3/4 earth mini but still a small guitar.

I do have some classical guitar favourites and absolutely love my old flamenco recordings.

I just find very few young beginners wanting to play this particular style of music these days. 8)
