Cables?

So as Murphy's law goes, last night one of my guitar cables decided to stop working on stage, luckily I had a spare although it's a cheap unreliable cable, I don't trust it at all. I haven't bought a cable in years and last time I bought some was in Korea so there is no chance in getting the same ones here. So I was wondering, what is a good, reliable brand? I treat my cables with great care, the longest one lasted me was 12 years (can't remember the brand either), but when I'm on stage I can't be bothered to not stomp on them when I'm rocking out, if it's in the way it's in the way, then it must handle the stress.

What do you guys recommend?

Make/get some made with good quality cable and plugs. Mogami cable and Neutrik plug seem to be the go-to recommendations. I've been happy with Amphenol plugs (ask Lutz at Music Connection for some - there are a variety of models that vary in quality, he'll give you the right ones) and Sommer and Klotz cables too.

Speak to Nic at Plumstead Bothners. I bought a dozen NP2C plugs and 30m of Moggie from him a couple months ago. He started stocking the cable because he got tired of me bugging him for it (by means of subtle requests like "got any good cable yet?". ?

Last time I was in CT Marshalls, they had the cable, but only had Amphenol plugs (which I don't like). They might have Neutrik now though, so try 'em too.

if your cable has broken at the plug end then replace them with Neutriks.

If it has broken in the middle then +1 on the cable and connector suggestions made before

Just a thought - if you run around and leap about on stage why not go wireless??

I ended up buying 2 Planet waves Custom Pro cables with life time guaranty They have Neutric plugs on them. I might just buy some cable at some point and use my old plugs to make some spare cables. Thanks for the advise.

Sound decent.
But, my experience with Planet Waves cables is, 1) they DO give in after a couple of years or so, and 2) the lifetime guarantee is apparently against faulty workmanship and that kind of thing so if your cable does stop working after a few years they're not obliged to replace it. The guys from TOMS replaced mine anyway though ? well done to them.

They are nice cables though.
