New Bass Amp Head Day - well actually I've had it for a month, but as usual life got in the way of music...

First, a bit of background... I moved into a flat earlier this year, so I'd been looking for a smaller bass amp so I don't throw my back out lugging my current monster up and down two flights of stairs on the rare occasion I find myself in a jam situation.
I was initially looking at an Ibanez Promethean, which is essentially a 300W amp in a 30cm x 30cm x 30cm cube.
One day I was browsing on Musician's Friend - as the GAS-afflicted commonly find themselves doing - and a TC Electronic BH250 caught my eye.
A few weeks later, Marshall Music had their sale and since I work a couple of k's from the Woodmead store, I decided I'd pop in, not expecting to find that much.
Head up to the bass amp section and:

Boom! 250W into a 1.8kg head. Although until I find a new cab, it's probably putting out 150W since my cab is rated at 8ohms (the amp is 4ohms) - I think it's been discussed on this forum before, but for those wondering, the impedance mismatch is okay for solid state amps if the impedance is higher in the cab than the head, just not very efficient. An 8ohm head into a 4ohm cab would put me into a wee spot of bother.
Pic of the head on the old cab - quite a size difference too...
The coolest thing about this amp is the TonePrint feature - that whit knob on the first picture.
Basically, it allows you to upload certain effects onto the amp via your PC or a free app. These effects have been set up by a number of bassists on the TC Electronics roster - such as Duff McKagan and Nathan East.

The app works on witchcraft - I think. Choose the effect you want via the app, hold your phone to your pickups and press send, and that's it - new effect uploaded.

The only problem is, you can only use one effect at a time (two if you have the footswitch); however this isn't a huge issue for me since I'm not really an effects-based player.
        Lekker man!
Enjoy it, it looks a top piece of kit!
I must say, beaming the toneprints was quite cool when i had the TC flashback. Very quick and easy to try different tones like that!
Also, with the toneprints, dont forget you can creat your own with their toneprint editor for more sonic possibilities ?
          Thanks Norman!

Unfortunately the TonePrint editor isn't compatible with their bass amps...yet ☹. Hopefully they'll sort it out soon - it's a really great concept.
            Ah thats a pity.
But im sure it'll be around sooner rather than later. (Hopefully)
