Not so sure if it belongs here but I have been using this free download for two years now.
It is an open source Tab editor with GuitarPro read and write.

It displays both, tab and standard notation as well as multi tracking. I found it a perfect learning tool, especially when practicing scales, chords and riffs (only the easy ones :-[).

I use it quite a lot. But that is mainly because I am one of those Linux weirdoes. 8)
It seems to lack some of the features from GP but it is good enough to learn songs and mess around.

I have used it sporadically over the past few years until I picked up a free copy of GP Lite. Still have i installed, though
