Feel like I am being duped

This is quite sensitive issue so I will withold company names

Here is my (our) predicament.

Our church recently had a miraculous windfall and could afford to upgrade our sound system + purchase 5 new Shure SM 58 mikes.
we placed the order, paid our monies and 6 weeks later still no show >☹

On every inquiry we are held at arm's length with excuses that the mikes have not yet arrived but the rest of the equipment is there. For the past three weeks we insisted that the equipment be delivered and the mikes come at a later stage as we believe we can get by with the mikes we have.

Again we get the same answer that delivery is once off for all items.

What do we do? Where can I go to name and shame this company?
Am I allowed to mention their name on this forum?

Hello Peter is always a good bet, but only really if the company is big enough to give a sh!t... And BTW, I'd love to know who not to deal with in the future

You may name and shame here. Obviously make sure any facts you publish are correct for legal reasons.

My next step would be to tell them to deliver what they have immediately and refund the money for the mics, which I could buy off the shelf in any larger store with no wait. If I didn't have shipping confirmation within a business day, I would report it as fraud to the police.

Jeez, you're more patient than I, I'd cancel the order and get my money back. Name 'em please, even under the banner of poor unreliable service or as I prefer to call them, plain old bullshitters...

Make sure they come in a box like this and not the older box/package.

Ah yes, from a legal point of view you certainly have a right to demand refund. Did they ever stipulate how long they would take?

Make sure you get REAL Shure mics.

Sounds like you'd have a case that falls under the Consumer Protection Act. I'm away from my Pc, a quick googling will get you all the info you need.

I've found just knowing about your legal rights defined by this act, makes suppliers/contractors nervous...?

Yeah, I'm with Alan. Tell them to send what they have, cancel the mics and open a fraud case against them if they don't.

Smart thing to do and to prevent future simular problems with this supplier by other people is to name who you are dealing with. I thought this is one of the reasons why we join forums like this. It's not like this porduct has to be speciually imported, the other shops are full of them.

Some good news!
Our kit was delivered. Laney feedback monitors and Mackie main monitors as well as the mikes.
