Tele from Blackbeard's Den

Here are a few pics of the Tele I made from a kit from Blackbeard's Den. The top is ash burl, body is basswood,neck is maple and fingerboard is rosewood. I'm told by Dean of Blackbeard's Den that the pickups are sonic. It really turned out much better than I expected. I don't have the tools or the skills to tune a nut so I had it set up by Andy McGibbon and it plays beautifully.

That wood is a gem Ash Burl, must have been challenging with the sanding. Great job though! ?

I used a nitrocellulose-based sanding sealer - many, many coats, sanded back between coats, until the talc in the sealer filled up the grain. It seems to give an almost 3D effect. Then polyurethane for the finish.
