Just saying hello!

Good day people,

My name is Christov and would like to introduce myself to this forum.

To be honest i know absolutely nothing about any musical instruments. I grew up being more of a "rugby" player and with regret it did not leave any room for learning to play a musical instrument... *(kick my own ar$) Although, music has always been an intimate passion of mine, and i would very much like to start learning more, especially playing guitar. My dad, knowing his way around the harmonica quite good, is responsible for some inspiration. I know its a long shot and i would not consider myself to be the next Jimi Hendrix, although it would be absolutely great to pull off a proper campfire tune...

I am sure there are more than ample info on this forum on how to get started and i will do the necessary searches, but please feel free to send me in the right direction regards to "first-time-noob" guitar purchase (always fancied a Yamaha acoustic) and self training material.

Welcome Derksman! You'll find a lot of help and some great advice here!!

The Yamaha acoustic is a great start. If you page through some of the topics you'll find a lot of information for beginners, especially internet sites (justinguitar??) that cater for what you're looking for.

Hey man, welcome!

Strange reading ur post, i found myself in a similar position - with sport and not really having time to go the music route. I started playing when i got my own cash and bought a guit and fender prac amp. (i wanted to play drums, but didnt hav transport so i opted for a guitar instead)

Long story short, from the first note i was hooked ? and the "struggle" in the beginning was awesome, coz when u nail that lick or riff u hav been struggling with for so long is one of the best feelings ever!

If you would like some advice you r more than welcome to inbox me, or start a thread with questions and everyone can chip in.
