wirt The only reason a person of sound mind and body should ever eat Marmite is to enable him/her to better sympathize with people in under-developed countries without access to decent food, or some kind of foodie masochism. I swear, if I never heard of Marmite in my life and someone gave me a jar of the foul stuff, I'd assume it was some deranged lunatic's attempt to make a semi-edible glue which could safely be stored within reach of infants. It's the dietary equivalent of Norwegian Black Metal.

chris77 I think a lot of people don't like it because they spread it too thickly. It really is vile if you spread it like you would jam or PB, but get the mix right and it's lovely on toast or fresh bread.

dee Marmite on malba toast = yum! Personally, I love the stuff... Side story: My house mate's girlfriend is from Finland, and he gave her some marmite on a white bread bun once. She gagged and looked like she was going to throw up!
