Love my tennis.

Federer seeded 7th. ?
I'm pulling for Roger, he's always my #1 in any tournament.

After Roger, if either Nadal or Djokovic win it then I'm a happy man, as long as it's not Andy Murray.

If you're a sports betting man then my 'surprise/underdog' for the tournament would be Kei Nishikori from Japan...not to win, but to cause some damage to a big name.
My nephew coached him and travelled the world tour with him for 4 years, he's a genius player.
Put a few Rand on him if you're a gambling man.

    +1

well not Novak but the rest is all good ?
The GOAT is 7th...ah the cruel march of time. Tennis is just more interesting with him in it.

@Tokai - why anybody but Murray? Just out of curiosity. ?

I like all tennis players, so I don't really mind who wins, but there's just something about Murray that bugs me.
His mother irritates me, why is she there at every match he plays pumping her fist every time he wins a point...he's not 10 years old any more. ?
Also, he's Scottish, when England play Scotland in Soccer or Rugby it's a war, but with Murray he's the little darling of the English public...doesn't make sense. :?

How about my Kei Nishikori tip, he lost first round. ?

I'm gunning for Djokovic...maybe Nadal, don't like Murray too much. Can't stand the Swiss twit. And then the ladies, some honeys in there, Nr1 Ana Ivanovic...the rest, doesn't exist. LOL
strataxe, you have good taste regarding Ana .
but, if you ever have a chance, visit Serbia and its capital Belgrade .
you will see a thousands beautiful girls like Ana .... 8) , and maybe find your self asking -what a hell is going on here with so many gorgeous ladies around ??

Lance, by the way Novak is going down the hill regarding current form , Nadal will beat him again .
But , I doubt Nadal will ever make to beat Novak 11 times in a row .... ?
Djokovic will comeback soon , and so on , and so on...until they get to Federer position, close to retirement .
Hope some new kids will be ready to beat all three of them in a few years time, that's life ?
...and then Ana went out, ☹ ☹ ☹ ☹ ☹ ☹ no use watching the US open anymore.
                what number McEnroe seeded?

seriously though , have not watched tennis in years ..last time was I was seriously hooked was when chang beat lendl at frnech open in the semi's , or was in quarters.

come from a big tennis family , I think my brother still rated in the top 5 in za in vets doubles or something like that....

one of my fondest memories is watching the Wimbledon 81 final at my granparents farm in Belgium "(Charleroi area) all the uncles and aunts ,cousins etc all glued to this small (inthose days) tv set .....half the family rooting for borg the other half for lil john , the year before the borg half were smiling , in 81 in glorious Belgian sunshine we watched McEnroe beat borg in another 5 setter ..these were titanic struggles...

I think with sport on all the time , its taken some of the magic away from events like tennis finals at the slam, the Durban july , world title fights etc ...
My nephew Glenn Weiner is the Super Squad coach at the IMG Nic Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Florida.

                  Here he does a drill...

                  =
I say this with tears in my eyes...Roger Federer can never win another Grand Slam tournament.

No doubt in my mind, he's the greatest player ever.
But, at this point in time it's impossible for him to beat both Nadal and Djokovic on the way to winning another Grand Slam.
It's almost impossible to beat Nadal, he's just too strong...and if by some miracle you beat him you'll be exhausted in the next match...and, if you play Djoko when you're exhausted and not 100% then you can't beat him.

Roger's not retiring, he said so in his post match interview, and he might win another tournament where Nadal and Djoko aren't playing, but never a Grand Slam.
Luck for you Tokai, Andy Murray is out!
